Public Call
Office Fixed Wireless Terminal Solutions
Axesstel offers wireless
payphone solutions that enable service providers to offer
Public Calling Offices (PCO) for locations that are not
serviced by landline networks. Our payphone solution couples
meter message technology defined in IS-98B with our fixed
wireless terminal (FWT) for generating meter pulse. There
are two PCO fixed wireless terminal options:
- AXW-T450, AXW-T800 or
AXW-T1900 Fixed Wireless Terminal connected to a PCO machine
which is located between the FWT and PSTN phone
- AXW-T450, AXW-T800 or
AXW-T1900 Fixed Wireless Terminal connected directly to
a PSTN payphone (coin, magnetic, smartcard, etc.)
The AXW-T450, AXW-T800
and AXW-T1900 generate three different types of meter pulses
(12 KHz, 16 KHz and Polarity Reverse) according to operator's
need to trigger the PCO machine or to debit from the regular
PSTN payphone.
Application Advantages
- Cheaper equipment costs
- Enhanced security with no risk of coin-box
tampering
- Attendant assistance in calling - many
callers can be unfamiliar with calling
- Caller pays for exact call amount-no
'stranded' money on calling card
Operator/Franchisee Business Model
- Franchisee buys the fixed wireless
terminal with the payphone application installed from
the carrier
- Franchisee pre-pays for service
- Franchisee receives instructions and
signage for service
- If prepaid service runs out, wireless
service is discontinued with no loss to operator
